And it’s for that reason we work hard to ensure every one of our 1,400 colleagues feel valued, able to fulfil their potential, and that their health and wellbeing is looked after.
We provide support and specialist training for all roles, with learning and development opportunities at all levels including leadership and management, health and safety and compliance. We also support colleagues in achieving professional qualifications including CIPS and AAT, and fully fund CPC courses for all our drivers.
Health and Wellbeing
To promote a positive sense of wellbeing we offer every colleague access to a health cash plan provided by Health Shield that covers dental, optical, chiropody services as well as prescription medicines, as well as a free 24-hour counselling service.
In addition, our Managers are trained to carry out health assessments, we are licensed to deliver IOSH Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing courses and we have a trained team of Mental Health First Aiders.
We hold regular face-to-face engagement and listening sessions, have a driver committee involved in all key decisions relating to our fleet and a private Facebook page where all colleagues can get fast answers to questions from our leadership team.
Our approach is paying off and our latest colleague engagement survey recorded our highest score to date, up 14% on the previous result.
Diversity and Gender Pay Gap
We also work hard on Diversity and Inclusion in our business with Elspeth Doyle appointed as our diversity champion, and we have reduced the gender pay gap to be less than 1% (0.94%) compared to the UK average of 8.9%. To see our latest Gender Pay Gap report
