For Bibby Distribution, supply chain management is about optimising customer warehousing, distribution, and connected resources in line with, and to achieve, business objectives. We link information flows and provide comprehensive management information, allowing accurate planning and timely decision making across all business functions (including production, sales and marketing, purchasing and finance).

A key part of our operational development process is integrating 'internal' supply chain activities with other 'external' activities. These include other internal Group companies, suppliers, customers-customers and across international boundaries. Extending the supply chain in this way leads to better end-to-end visibility, ensures control, and of course, brings the benefits of cost efficiency enhanced service.

Increasingly we are assuming the role 'Lead Logistics Provider' for our customers, as they recognise the benefits the Bibby Distribution approach to supply chain management can bring. We become the supply chain function of their business, an integral part of their operation, involved in international sourcing and pricing projects as well as strategic global supply chain design, recommendation and implementation.
