Bibby Distribution Limited are proud to be supporting the Brand New Concept for a New Schools IT Education Campaign with the help of their IT director Robert Lee.
Having supported various schools over the years, Bibby Distribution have recently extended the scope by working with an initiative called "Inspire", who are a Liverpool School Collaborative pioneering the new Government IT Diploma.
The need for operational business support was essential and critical to the success of this initiative and funding has been secured to allow the group to purchase a new office block in Liverpool City centre to teach in a business like environment.
More recently this support was extended to include a seminar for IT teachers across NW England to help share industry best practice to the school environment.
Bibby Distribution has made major investments in both IT infrastructure and ITIL based governance; including a full Disaster Recovery/twin IT centre facility in recent years.
The IT Team were delighted to be asked to support this new government drive to make IT, and its workings, more inspirational and interesting to students between the ages of 15-18.
"If we demand practical and enthusiastic young IT people, we in industry need to do more than criticize," said Lee
Support has been provided by Bibby Distribution at both a general business IT level and specifically more demanding project management training.
Bibby IT is required to deliver many new start ups.
In excess of 30 Warehouse Management System implementations have been successfully carried out in the last two years.
IT has been a significant part of Bibby Distribution's growth and success.
Continuous improvement programs for our clients and sharing the practical elements as well as theory has added a new dimension to the delivery of the schools programme.
Robert Lee, hosted a number of sessions for "Inspire" at the head office of Bibby Distribution in Duke Street, Liverpool and was fortunate enough to meet with the Minister of State for Children, Young People and Families - Rt.
Hon Beverley Hughes MP, who had taken time out to review the Liverpool project.
"I was delighted to be part of this project here in Liverpool.
IT and its infrastructure is a critical part of everyday business activity and developing this route for youths to follow into the industry has been a great success.
I very much hope Bibby Distribution benefits from the up and coming talent this can produce.
The Minister was able to confirm that Liverpool model was likely to be extended to the rest of the UK," said Lee.
