Bibby Distribution has introduced its brand new image in style as a convoy of newly liveried trailers paraded through Merseyside in support of the 2011 RunLiverpool Marathon.
The company's new look, which is set to feature on 400 trailers hitting the road over the next three months, is said to be just the beginning of plans to move the business forward following a period of sustained growth.
"The company has gone through a considerable change in a relatively short space of time," said Iain Speak, Chief Executive Officer of Bibby Distribution. "We now need to bring uniformity to our fleet and amalgamate the branding of our road assets, whether new or those gained through acquisition.
"It's not just a case of buying new curtains for trailers and applying them; it's actually quite complex. We are re-profiling our business and making significant investments to enable us to move the company forward more effectively. Our name in the past has suggested that we are simply a transport company; in reality we are much more than that. We offer bespoke services which are developed around customer needs, hence ‘Logistics without limits' featuring prominently in the new branding," added Speak.
Bibby says the fleet project - including 340 new trailers and 60 refurbishments - shows the scale of its commitment to a cohesive company image.
The majority of new trailers have been custom-built to suit customer requirements and feature either re-enforced floors with 3.1m loading aperture for high volume loads, or curtains incorporating high-impact material to provide additional load rigidity and security.
As a supporting partner of the RunLiverpool Marathon 2011 - making a comeback this year having last been staged in Liverpool in 1992 - Bibby Distribution's vehicle convoy carried the luggage of 9,000 runners through the streets of its hometown ready for collection at the finish of the race.
"We consider ourselves to be different as we are a business driven by ambition and by the expertise of our people," added Speak. "The company's growth has been motivated by meeting the needs of customers and maintaining the values of the Bibby family.
"What better place to launch our new image than on the same streets where our parent company started more than 200 years ago," he added.
