Day to Day Role

I have worked for Bibby Distribution since July 2009.  I started in the warehouse as a loader and after six weeks I transferred to driving.   My current role involves the delivery of roll cages of automotive parts to the Toyota & Lexus dealer network.   Working nights and through all weathers I typically deliver to 6/7 dealers a night dropping 1/2 cages of high value product at each site. I use the new scanning system which enables a 'track & trace' for all the parts delivered and returned our service levels are some of the best in the industry and improving all the time.

What is it like working for Bibby Distribution ?

We have to comply with very stringent SOP's when performing our roles which meet the customers expectations.  These SOP's in turn mean that delivery performance and feedback are consistent and that the end product to the customer (our service) can be relied upon even in extreme weather conditions  - the likes of which we experienced over the winter months.   At first I found adjusting to my new role challenging, but with the support of the senior management at Lutterworth I was soon made to feel part of the team. I have now been put forward as the CI Champion at Lutterworth and am looking forward to the challenges ahead. I am due to take part in a joint Bibby/Toyota Kaizen meeting imminently and beleive that this will further reinforce our partnership with the customer
