Bibby Distribution and Tetrosyl have worked in partnership for 8 years. Initially an exercise in transport network optimisation, by demonstrating success the scope of services provided by Bibby has grown over the years to the extent that Bibby is now considered to be an integral part of the Tetrosyl team. For their first logistics outsourcing project, Tetrosyl chose Bibby Distribution.

Customer

Tetrosyl is the largest manufacturer and supplier of car care products in the UK, a privately owned company which specialises in oils & lubricants, refinishing, and DIY products. The Company has a significant worldwide presence; its global reach extends to 75 countries.

Current situation

Operating in close partnership with the Tetrosyl team on their site in Chadderton, Bibby Distribution manages National transportation of Tetrosyl products providing a range of services.

Contract Evolution

2000 – Partnership is established, Bibby Distribution becomes Tetrosyl’s first logistics provider initially undertaking trunk movements and onward radial deliveries from Bury to Bibby out-bases at Enfield, Sywell, Avonmouth & Glasgow.

2002 – BDL take over UK wide distribution, existing Tetrosyl employees TUPE transferred to Bibby Distribution. Bibby re-deploy customer vehicles from Bury to Tetrosyl’s Distribution Centre in Heywood. Original fleet of vehicles transferred to Bibby ownership.

2003 - Chep pallet control transferred from Tetrosyl, reducing cost & minimising administrative queries

2004 – Delivery fleet reductions due to improved efficiency and new delivery volumes

2006 - Fleet replacement programme commences with new Tetrosyl vehicle livery used to maintain high quality customer image and advertise products.

2007 – Introduction of latest technology double deck trailers to maximise capacity on trunking legs

2008 - Tetrosyl contract moved from Heywood Distribution Centre and re-located to current site at Greengate (Chadderton).
