Bibby Distribution & Tayto have worked closely together since the start of the contract in 2007. The service covers end of line factory clearance and all the warehousing and distribution activities for the Golden Wonder brand in the UK. The successful implementation of the contract at short notice during peak trading was only possible by both companies working closely together and has set a firm foundation for future development.

Customer

Tayto is a large crisps and snacks manufacturer based in Ireland and has been making products since 1956. They successfully acquired the Golden Wonder brand and its manufacturing facilities in Scunthorpe and Corby in 2006 which had fallen into administration. Tayto relaunched the business and secured 550 jobs in the process. Today, Golden Wonder is a leading brand in the UK crisps market and is supplied to a whole range of customers from local stores to the leading supermarkets and retailers.

Current Solution

The contract is located at Bibby Distribution's Multi-Customer facility in Scunthorpe. This is the ideal location close to the Golden Wonder factory in Scunthorpe. Our responsibility starts at the end of the production line at the factory and ends at final delivery to the retail outlet.

Contract Evolution

2007 - Contract Successfully Implemented during peak trading, 5 months ahead of initial schedule. This Included the TUPE transfer of 55 employees and stock from 4 different sites.

2009 - Implementation of nominated days delivery service after a remodelling exercise to minimise cost per delivery
