Bibby Distribution recent acquisitions

Bibby Distribution are delighted to announce the following acquisitions:

Hammond Logistics Group

On the 31st of March 2005 Bibby Distribution acquired Hammond Logistics bringing together two of the logistics industries best known and respected private companies.

Hammonds Logistics was established in 1959 growing steadily to a turnover of £35 million in 2004. The company employs around 600 staff at 20 sites across the UK operating some 250 vehicles and utilising market leading IT systems largely developed in house.

Key customers include Toyota, Arla, D S Smith, Antalis, Braitrim and Sericol.

PD Freight Management

As of Monday 6th February 2006, Bibby Distribution acquired PD Freight Management – formerly Gibbons Freight Ltd.

This business operates out of sites located in Tilbury and Felixstowe, specialising in Freight Management, deep-sea full container loads, airfreight management and in house customs clearance. This acquisition compliments and extends the existing services portfolio currently offered by Bibby International Logistics at our Cannock site, allowing us to offer truly in-house door-to-door services to customers across the global, European and domestic supply chain.

Archfield Logistics

As of Monday 2nd October 2006 Bibby Distribution acquired Archfield (Shipping) Limited.

Archfield (Shipping) Ltd was an independent family owned Company that has been involved in the Freight Forwarding industry since 1963. The operation is still headed by Philip Wilson and has developed a settled and experienced staff that is well qualified to handle and advise on any of the following requirements:
